Allegorithmic’s Substance now in Virtuos

substanceAllegorithmic’s “Substance” technology, a collectin of tools for micro file-size textures and user-generated content, is now part of the Virtuos production pipeline, joining Asian developers NCSoft, The9, T3 Entertainment, and Gravity.

“3D artists are increasingly in need of efficient compositing tools for creating dynamic textures,” says Andrey Supryaga, senior art director at Virtuos. “The Substance suite of tools has allowed us to easily create those textures and dramatically boost our productivity by enabling rapid iteration.”

The Substance technology is particularly useful in the new generation of online gaming, where the micro file-size features make the download of new content much easier and faster.
