To end this two week video games series, here on the Daily Viz from Visual Loop, we’ve chosen to take a look at two of the greatests franchises in history: World of Warcraft and Starcraft. The folks at Travel Insurance give us the rebirth of the home console’s infographic, and then three posts about handheld gaming and controllers, also by Travel Insurance , Gameranx and CX Partners.
This past Sunday we celebrated Father’s Day, and the folks at Redbox released an infographic showing that more dads own Nintendo Wiis than other consoles, so we decided to take a look at the Nintendo world. First, some facts about the company, brought by Online MBA, and its biggest franchise, Super Mario, provided by Home Owner Insurance. Then, a couple of timelines: the Nintendo Handheld, evolution, found on xxxxx, and the Gameboy timeline, by It burns when I PVP – and let’s wait to see what people will do when the Wii U is released.
Entering the second week of Video Gaming infographics, the massive growth of the Social Games Universe is the subject of today’s selection. Amazing numbers gathered by the folks at Tripwire Magazine and Get Satisfaction, are followed by IT Grunts‘s take at the online gaming reality, and by Intuit‘s look at video game currency.
Like we said in the beginning of the week, a lot of folks – and us, of course – just love video games. But, how many of us know exactly what it takes to make one? Games 2U explains that, and then, from Game are Evil and Maxim, a look at the developers, with some fun stats and facts. To close the week, Travel Insurance featured some of the amazing video game worlds created, followed by some of the most remembered video games villains ever created, brought by Complex.
We begin our roundup today with another video game evolution infographic, this time by Online Schools, that also provides us with a rundown on PC gaming. Renters Insurance makes a comparison between PC gaming and consoles, followed by a look at the used games market, by JJ Games, and the size of the Video Game Sales on eBay.
There’s no way we can talk about video games without mentioning the recent Sony’s network outage. Promotional Codes and DCW Concepts take a deep look at the chaos originated by that situation, and then, we’ll travel trough the Playstation history, with a help from the Company itself, that produced some infographics celebrating that path. Because, no matter what, Playstation has come a long way, and they’ll keep playing an important role in the industry.
In the end of 2010, the folks at IGN released a list of the most expected games of 2011 – our first pick of the day. Then, a couple of graphics about this year’s edition of the E3 Expo, by Game Front and Web Trends, followed by a look at 3d in video games, brought by 3DS Guide and The Playstation Blog.
Last week, the video game industry met in the E3 Annual Expo, and we’re all big fans of games here, so, during the next two weeks, we will dedicate the Daily Viz from Visual Loop to this amazing world. And today, a lot of facts, stats and numbers about the industry! Online Education, ESRB and 10Creative compiled most of these, while Renters Insurance shows us the evolution of video game genres, and – again – Online Education takes us in time too, with its video game timeline, going back to 1967.
