Ostendo fails to deliver in more than one way

Bright Side Of News has taken the Ostendo curved screen display that we talked about several months ago. BSN did not like the Ostendo curved screen display for two reasons. First, the Ostendo used four projectors to display images to the screen. A line is left where those four projects overlap the projected images. Second was that the image was sharp in the middle of the screen, while blurry towards the edges. From their article:

Why is the Ostendo CRVD so bad? It’s quite simple really – it uses somewhat outdated DLP technology with poorly implemented software in order to provide the customer with what we would consider a beta solution.

Ostendo now selling CRVD display directly

ostendoVarious websites are reporting that the unusual Ostendo quad-DLP Curved & widescreen display is now on sale, and has been since august.

The monster 2880 x 900 quad-DLP display has been quietly on sale directly from the mothership since late August. Ostendo tell us most of the units sold have been for defense simulation and training, but there are apparently some gamers out there hardcore enough to stomach the $6,499 price tag — including the crown prince of Dubai, who's purchased “multiple units.” We’re also told that multi-monitor CRVD applications are forthcoming, which sounds insane — and is even wilder on video

Check out some impressive gaming video of 3 of these displays in use as once, after the break.
