TeaCup is a free online asset sharing system for 3D Studio Max, allowing fully integrated sharing and browsing of textures and materials. Currently meshes are unsupported (but coming soon), but you can browse a wide variety of textures and material settings directly within your Max install.
Nina Paley has just taken a major step with her fantastic “Sita Sings the Blues” by placing all of the original assets (FLA files) online at archive.org under the CC-ShareAlike license.
