Lightworks has just announced their nice Artisan product is now available for the Mac Platform, bring it to a whole new realm of users and applications.
Dave Forrester, Managing Director at Lightworks commented; “We realized that there are many companies operating on the Mac platform who would like to take advantage of our Lightworks Artisan technology within their own applications and so we responded to this. The availability of a Mac version means that products utilizing Lightworks Artisan will now be much more readily accessible to end users, irrespective of their chosen operating system.
Available already via IMSI/Design’s Renditioner product, it’s no doubt being integrated into other tools as you read this.

Another big win for Lightworks, their Artisan rendering product will now power the Russian KOMPAS-3D modeling software. Currently in use by over 40,000 customers worldwide, this makes Lightworks’s first big win in Russia once it goes live in September.
Oleg Zykov, Innovation Project Manager at ASCON, added: “More and more our customers are demanding a high-performance solution for rendering, integrated with KOMPAS-3D. The Artisan plug-in from Lightworks is exactly what they need. It allows them to create high quality images, whilst the solution is easy to learn and to work with. I’m sure that our partnership with Lightworks will be long and successful”.

Attendees of the upcoming SIGGRAPH Asia can stop by Lightworks’ booth (F01) for a quick glimpse at the new versions of Lightworks Author and Lightworks Artisan. In addition to this being the 20th anniversary year for Lightworks, the software has some impressive new features like realtime ray tracing, screen space ambient occlusion, and support for multiple lights in CgFX.
David Forrester, CEO of Lightworks commented: “Lightworks exhibited at the inaugural Siggraph Asia in Singapore in 2008 and we are delighted to be supporting this year’s exhibition in Japan.
