In New York on May 24th and 25th the LDV VISION SUMMIT was held for the 3rd time, now making it officially an annual event, as declared onstage at the SVA Theater. The experience felt like it had even a larger turnout than previous years throughout the two days of multitudes of speakers giving lightening keynotes of 5 and 10 minutes, engaging panel discussions with frank conversations about the “next big things” that will come (and the “next big things” that were predicted previously that didn’t come), and a few competitions to keep us sticking around through the end of the day.

Ably run and organized by Evan Nisselson, partner of LDV Capital which concentrates investing in Visual Technologies across the full tech stack for businesses or consumers, Evan opened, closed and summarized what we heard, drawing from previous years and synthesizing it all for the technologists, marketers and VCs who showed up to learn and network.

LDV Vision Summit from 2015 – panel discussion

Previous years’ summits have produced business deals and hiring opportunities, and judging from the conversations I heard during the many networking breaks, this year will be as fruitful for some as in other years.

Well established high-profile companies, including Apple, Microsoft, Google, Facebook, and NVIDIA with large stakes in VR, AI, and visual technology were either stage or in the room available for conversation, as well as notables such as Magic Leap, GoPro, NBCUniversal, and others.

As for the investor segment, this summit brought investment activity as a topic to the mainstage, with multiple onstage discussion with VCs, not only about the trends in visual technology that interested them, but key attitudes and behaviors that entrepreneurs need to exhibit to create good working partnerships with investors.

Below is a link to a gallery of graphic recordings summarizing over a dozen of the keynotes and panel discussions, presented with a fair mix of men and women, technologists and investors, and a great spirit throughout that the visual aspects of technology is on a steady march forward to improve lives of individuals in many ways.
