Scribble Announces Kickstarter Campaign Being Launched to Crowdfund World’s First Color Picker Pen

A Kickstarter campaign for the Scribble Pen, a compact color picker scanner which then allows you to draw in that same color (within a spectrum of over 16 million colors) is planned to launch on July 7, 2014 in order to crowdfund the production of the pen and a similarly capable stylus.Scribble drawing

Developed by Scribble, this innovative pen can hold over 100,000 unique colors in its internal memory. The device works by using a color sensor and microprocessor to detect colors and mix the required ink for drawing.  It’s small enough to fit in a pocket or purse, simple to use, and connects to moble devices/tablets through bluetooth. (see the image at the end of the article).

A Scribble Stylus will also be released which connects with Scribble+ mobile app bringing all the captured colors via blue tooth to the users cell phone or tablet.

The multi-cartridge ink pen will initially have a rollerball style nib, with other options (felt tip and brush) as add-ons. The web site doesn’t yet report what the ink base will be.

The price for the pen is currently listed at US$149.95, while the stylus will be US$79.95.
