Australian microphone manufacturer RØDE, best known for their microphones aimed at the DSLR/camcorder video market, has just announced their first short film competition, “My RØDE Reel”, for 2014.
Open to filmmakers at all levels, they are looking for short films under 5 minutes in length, to be accompanied by a BTS video (Behind the Scenes), in which the filmmaker(s) show the use of a RØDE microphone in the production of the video.
With over $70,000 in prizes in equipment and gear, here will be three major prize packs, category prizes and a free t-shirt for every entrant.
The categories are Judges’ FIlm Prize, Peoples’ Choice prize, and Judges’ BTS Prize.
The competition opened on March 1, 2014. Public voting commenced as well on that date. The following dates are milestones for the competiton:
- May 31: Entries close (Australia time zone)
- June 9 Category Prize Winners announced
- June 16: Judges’ BTS Prize winner announced
- June 18: Judges’ Film Prize winner announced
- June 23: Public voting closes, Peoples’ Choice Prize announced
