Dean Meyers‘s insight:

What could be simpler than creating a quick and dirty survey? That’s a trick question, of course. Not only is there the difficulty of creating the appropriate questions (i.e. non-leading questions, poorly created scales, presumptive questions, etc), there is the final output, the product of the survey: explaining the results.

Once again, you can fall into various traps and not accurately report on the results. I highly recommend using the simple rules and techniques presented here. They are excellent models of simplicity and directness in displaying data in a highly digestible form.

Now all you need is a little D3.js to run these reports, and you can go live online as the data comes in!
