Tableau, probably the most highly-regarded datagraphics visualization program on the market, made the announcement that “in early 2014” there would be a Tableau for Mac. (See this brief teaser on Tableau’s blog).

Tableau on the Mac

Tableau’s tantalizing view of their upcoming Mac software

The announcement, in particular, displays an embedded Tableau-style chart on a Mac laptop screen. Whether it’s live data from the software or just rendered onto the Mac’s screen, with such an early announcement it’s not really possible to tell what the interface will look like.

It’s also timed to be released with Tableau 8.2.

Tantalizing, and no open call for beta testers, from what I can see, though I’m sure many are ready to try it out.
