As the year wraps up, check out this nice interactive visualization of the year’s Box Office results. Each film is visualized as it’s percentage of the week’s return, and sorted so that the #1 is on the top. Follow the ribbons from opening to the right when they dropped from the charts.
The chart is pretty huge, requiring a good bit of scrolling to see it all. I do find it impressive to see just how long Avatar stayed on the list. Most films drop form the list in only 6 or 8 weeks, but Avatar goes for over twice that.
