One of the most amazing things about America it’s the cultural mixing possible trough massive immigration throughout the years, and GOOD takes a look on some of those numbers. We then move on to meet the 100 largest libraries in the country, courtesy of Travel Insurance, and Fastco Design gives us an amazing 3-D Map of the highest mountains here, made by Chicago designer Jerome Daksiewicz. Leaving America behind, we close this selection with the top pickpocketing cities in the World – another infographic by Travel Insurance -, and with Sane Dentist‘s look at Dental Tourism.

A Conversation With Onur Senturk

Onur Senturk won the 2010 Vimeo Awards for Best Motion Graphics with his video ‘Triangle’.  Over at Toolfarm, they interview him about some of the tools and ideas he uses in his work.

TF: What programs do you use? Do you use any third party plugins or additional software?

I use mainly 3dsmax also use C4d sometimes. I use AE for compositing. I think third party plug-ins what makes AE a more powerful tool and they fill the gaps. I use Optical Flares and Tinderbox plug-ins for AE. I use MAX2AE to catch missing interaction between 3dsmax and AE. I also use realflow for fluid dynamics.

The event is an annual, informal workshop whose goal is to provide a forum for scientists to meet, present their work, interact and establish collaboration in the field of computational geometry. The workshop is designed to have friendly and informal atmosphere for both established and young researchers.
