I got my newest toy today, the Panasonic AG-3DA1 stereo camera. Still need a lot of time to experiment with it and get the hang of it, but the in-hand convergence control alone is nice 🙂

You may already be aware of this but I’ll pass it along anyway: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/3da1-calc/id387582767?mt=8
@ HiFiHDTV No we didn’t. Right now we’re pulling video off to display via AfterEffects on the JVC Passive-3D system. The built-in monitor in the camera has surprisingly good alignment & preview capabilities.
To be expected I suppose given the sensor size comparison to the 5D and its glass options. Did you also receive the Panasonic BT-3DL2550 25.5″ monitor? We were told the delivery of ours will be delayed until the end of this month; the camera we expect tomorrow or Monday. We have a Panasonic 65″ 3D plasma we will use until the pro monitor arrives.
@ HiFiHDTV So far, it seems the Panasonic doesn’t come close Canon 5DmkII’s+BeamSplitter for quality, but is infinitely easier to use. We were shooting stereo 10 minutes after opening the box.
@ Randall Hand Yes, we expect to try out Cineform Neo 3D also. I understand they’ve optimized their workflow tools specifically for the AG-3DA1.
@ HiFiHDTV We are still experimenting. Right now we’re using AfterEffects, but we’ve got Cineform Neo to try out soon.
We are expecting delivery of ours any day now too. What software tools do you plan to be using for post?
