Yeah, have to shop carrier, not phone, unfortunately. T-Mobile is the only carrier currently rolling out HSPA+. Here in NYC, you can get 19Mb/s. With Verizon, I could only get 600Kb/s. With ATT, I couldn’t even reliably maintain a voice call. I had to keep changing carriers until I found one that actually worked in my area.
I didn’t try Sprint, but if I did, I would have gotten the EVO, but instead I have a Nexus One as it works on T-Mobile. Until iPhone is available on something other than ATT, it’s a non-starter in areas where ATT coverage is horrible, like, you know, the largest city in the country.
@Ted True, but how widespread is 4G? From looking at their Coverage map, it’s basically nonexistant right now.
The EVO runs 4G on a 4G network and supports up to a 32gb sim card. The iPhone4 is on a 3G network for at least 6 more months. The EVO, best of all, isn’t on AT&T.
