All live performances are great in the 2ndlife philosophy (live conferences, etc). I guess i am the same opinion as much of movie makers on the platform, even with second life limitations and the need of much more post production on the backstage, building, 3d maya, and all SL difficulties that ant resident knows. I guess the future is now!

Really great post, indeed second life is going to become a true recognized “game” engine to lower some big productions. All I need is a computer w/broadband, SL, FRAPS and an editor and I'm set. As a live musician performing in Second Life, it's allowed me to make machinima music videos (such as "Svarga" at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLnWBQpTbmE) and captured my live performances (such as "Virtual Stranger" at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9yZrh8FLho) at essentially no cost. It doesn't get much better than that!niko

One of the great things about Second Life is that it offers us “little people” the opportunity to make machinima TV shows, movies, music videos, commercials… you name it, all with relatively minimal investment. This second article in your series does an excellent job as a brief overview of machinima in Second Life. It also shows you are learning fast about the possibilities in SL and making great connections. Looking forward to part 3.

Nice article again. Allowing viewers participate in the show through logging in or chat bridge is a trend I predict will outstrip even "The Price Is Right" for audience engagement. One other great use of machinima I see is for storyboarding more expensive concepts in much the way Coppola used video editing in the early 80's. Being able to design, build and execute complicated scenery and special effects cost effectively before committing hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars to a project is a brillaint soulution. Protoyping in Machinima mkes a lot of sense. Machinima is a great genre and we will see many examples of remarkable films genrated out of Second Life, and I intend to contribute to this. Really enjoyed Vizworld being on the show, great job on panel & Thank you.

Great article, Virtual TV & Machinma is going to become more and more important thsi decade.
