One intrepid reader took a look at the ManyEyes visualization of Layoff statistics in the US and thought he could do better. The ManyEyes visualization gives a good overview of where the most jobs were lost (GM, BoA, etc) but makes it difficult to compare individual companies. “byonigoe”‘s visualization was made with “VisualizeFree” and shows a more traditional analytical view with interactive features for comparisons.
