Twitter is quickly becoming, if it hasn’t already, a prime method of communicating to the masses. Supplementing, and sometimes replacing, more common methods such as Blogs. If you’re new to twitter, then here’s a list of some Visual Effects companies running on twitter for you to start with. If you’re a veteran twitter user, then here’s some new names for you to consider!
Bio: Based out of New York City we are a company specializing in visual effects, motion graphics, animation, and production services.
The Molecule is rather new to Twitter, but their Twitter feed and their Blog are frequently updated with their work and breakdowns of shots. Frequently working on TV shows like “Rescue Me”, they typically post breakdowns of shots mere days after they air on TV.
Bio: The official Twitter page for Disney•Pixar!
Everyone knows who Pixar is, and they’ve got an official feed on Twitter. Updated Daily, it typically links to reviews, articles, and interview of Pixar videos and staff on other sites. They also link to shorts they upload on sites like Youtube for promotional work.
Another big name in computer animation, DreamWorks has a weekly-updated Twitter Feed that typically links their press releases. Only a few updates are online, but they link to their awards, announcements, and job listings.
Bio: Official Twitter for Double Negative Visual Effects
Double Negative has a twitter feed, sadly it hasn’t updated in a while. The few messages on there are links to articles covering their work in Angels & Demons and other major films. Hopefully they’ll continue to update it as new work comes out.
Bio: Global Visual Entertainment Services group – Visual Effects, Post-Production, Technology Services
Prime Focus operates a twitter feed, updated sporatically, that covers both articles of finished work and light information on work in progress. They don’t post many links, but when they do it’s typically to links on their own Prime Focus London website.
Bio: News and events from the Gnomon School of VIsual Effects
While not technically a VFX company, the Gnomon School of Visual Effects is a leader in training and educational resources. They update their twitter feed regularly with links to webcasts, online resources, and classes.
