Indigo Renderer goes Commercial

The Indigo Renderer, long since free “unbiased” raytracing renderer, has just announced that with the upcoming 2.0 release it’s going commercial.  To quote Nicholas Chapman:

“The first experiments with what came to be called Indigo started back in 2004. The name Indigo was given to the raytracer in 2006.
And now, in 2009, Indigo is all grown up, and is going commercial as version 2.0.

To reward early commercial adopters, we are offering half price licences for a limited time. Also, the first one hundred licences sold will not only be half price, but come with free lifetime upgrades to Indigo 3, 4, and beyond.

Right now they’re selling the “lifetime licenses” for €295.00 (approx $391), and claim the price will double once they run out.
