For all you FX junkies out there, Benjamin Button overtook the Oscar nominations with a stunning 13 nominations.  Paramount studios has setup an amazing interactive glimpse behind the tracking technologies used to match Brad Pitt’s face onto a smaller actor.

Paramount Pictures, Warner Bros., Digital Domain, Asylum FX, Matte World and Lola FX have all teamed up to put together a special website dedicated to the making of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button including videos, set pieces, costumes, false teeth and just about anything else you can think of and it is all for you to peruse.

The website is BenjaminButtonFX.com and you will need to know the username (”sfx”) and password (”buttonsbuttons”) to log-in. Inside you will get a chance to flip around a Flash based website and dig into the magical world director David Fincher and his crew pieced together. I have added the preface video just below to give you a taste of what you are in for and if you like it I suggest you head on over there to check it all out.

Update 1/27/09 10:39am

Looks like they’ve changed the username & password to the site, probably in response to the amount of traffic.  Until I find another working login, I’ve attached one of the videos below.
